Prechtl's Method Diagnostic

Diagnosing according to Professor Prechtl’s method is helpful in cases of first neurological disorders of a prematurely born child, resulting from damage to central nervous system and in future physiotherpy of infants.

This method is based on observing a child from a DVD record that captures babies spontaneous movements.

It concerns the assessment of the quality of spontaneous movement patterns called “general movement patterns” (GMs-general movements) performed by babies (prematurely born children, newborns, infants).

This method enables the physiotherapist to define the future direction of child’s development and help to clarify if the therapy shall be introduced or not.
