Milosz
Milosz is a very bright 9 year old boy with a witty sense of humour.
He loves History, books, his iPad and his beloved dachshund dog, Sherman.
When Milosz was 4 year old he was diagnosed with Myotubular Myopathy a rare genetic muscle conditions that most commonly affect boys from birth.
The condition causes profound muscle weakness and dangerously affect the muscles that control breathing and swallowing.
Milosz was born in December 2008 in Leicester. When he was born he was floppy with breathing and feeding difficulties. He was whisked to the ICU and spent 4 days there during which time he was intubated and experiencing many medial interventions. We were discharged from the hospital when Milosz was 19 days old.

We, as parents, wanted the best care for him and in our understanding he needed additional input form the professionals though unfortunately, we were only advised to ‘wait an see’. We were told he will probably not be able to walk, talk or feed orally. We didn’t want to waste precious time waiting and we decided to go Poland for his first year to get appropriate treatment. When Milosz was two and a half months old he started regular physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, speech and language therapy as well as play therapy. After a year he was able to feed orally, communicate by using Makaton (simplified sign language), stand and even make first steps.
When we came back to the UK we were desperate to carry on with the therapies so that Milosz would be able to reach his full potential. We were lucky to meet many fantastic and helpful people form the NHS, however, a weekly physiotherapist input was not available within this service. We were desperate to find someone who could help Milosz to keep his learnt skill and even develop further and that is when we were so lucky to meet Magda!

Magda has been working with Milosz since 2010. She is a very experienced, knowledgeable and caring person who knows her patients well. She truly communicates with her patients and adjusts to their needs taking account the level of care required. Milosz was in need of specific and long-term help and through his work with Magda we believe he has been able to be where he is today. Magda communicates brilliantly with parents, too!
We have always felt Milosz is in best hands and the response to the questions we have had, however difficult at times, has always been delivered at highest level of professionalism and care. Moreover, we are absolutely certain that whatever the future holds for Milosz, his continued development is supported through the program of Magda’s physiotherapy.
We often talk to Magda and stay on top of the most recent research and medical progress. We are happy too that Magda continuously searches, develops and progresses in the field of physiotherapy continuously adjusting these most recent methods to her patients needs. It makes us assured our son has a better future with her support. We cannot be grateful Magda enough for her drive, devotion and professionalism. Thank you Magda for your care.
